OVERVIEW
This project explores the 3D visuals and motions that could help pilots quickly put pins and simulate the path. It is continuous work from the CAPE Pilot project. Learn more about the UX/research progress from the link below.CAPE Pilot

Dark Mode: According to the research, many flight operations happen in dark environments (nighttime or dark room). Users also feel the dark color is easier on their eyes. So the first exploration is in the dark mode map.

3D Locator: To help visualize where the drone is located. The 2d map will provide the plane location info much faster. As a result, it's easier to move around. The 3d maps help provide altitude information to help the user understand how high the drone is and the surrounding environments.
01 Plan Mission
2D Path Drawing: In public safety usages, the pilot often plans the flight patrol path. A 2D mapping tool helps the user drop and drop mission points, move them around, or delete them.

3D Path Auditing: After the 2D path is finished, the 3D mapping mode would provide the user with the designated space to audit the altitude of each point. This feature will help the flight avoid high obstacles and no-flight zones in a certain area.

02 Flight Preview
Flight Path preview: After the path is planned, pilots can preview the flight path with a path simulator. It provides path in. relation to the surrounding area. In addition, it helps pilots ensure the drone doesn't hit any buildings when it flies.
